Dr. Jill Price DMD, PC I decided to be a dentist in the 5th grade. 30 years later, I'm still happy I made the decision I did when I was a kid. Dentistry has been a better profession than I ever dreamed of.Born in Oregon, I moved around a lot as a child, from small town to small town in Oregon, Washington, South Dakota, and Idaho. I graduated from high school in Idaho, and made my way back out to Oregon for college, graduating with a Bachelor of Science from Oregon State University. After completing my 3rd year in college, I was accepted into the OHSU dental school (no backpacking trip to Europe for me), allowing my to concurrently complete my 4th year of college and first year of dental school. I graduated from Oregon Health Science University School of Dentistry in Portland in 1992. Immediately following graduation I did a year long private practice fellowship. It was then I knew exactly what I was looking for in a practice. I wanted to create a practice that brought together the latest techniques and technologies that I learned at OHSU, with that sense of community and caring I grew up with in those small Pacific Northwest towns. Practicing dentistry in Portland has been wonderful. I enjoy all aspects of the dental profession from the simplest of restorations to the complex combined implant-orthodontic-cosmetic cases that make you think hard on how to achieve the utmost successful result. I have fun with the little young patients, and learn from the seniors. I consider myself a perfectionist and get the most personal satisfaction from making someone's smile. My patients are more to me than just my patients. Many have become my close friends over the years. The best part of private practice is getting to know the patients for so many years. It has become one big growing family. I love looking at the schedule and noting who is coming in and actually getting excited to see them. I look forward to more years of practicing the wonderful profession on these patients and the ones I have yet to meet. To balance out my professional life I spend time with my husband and two young boys. When not being a dentist and mother, I enjoy spending time running, searching for the perfect vintage piece of jewelry, and dental antiquing. I have been an active contributor and leader in our regional dental community, serving & volunteering my time as an officer in the Oregon Dental Association, sitting on the Oregon Health Sciences Foundation Board of Trustees and as a member of the Oregon Board of Dentistry (the Oregon State regulatory body). |
